Nine dedicated MBCers met at the Silver Reef Casino to start our westward trek towards the Lummi dike. The worst Mother Nature threw at us were some heavy gusts, which we laughed off with comments of umbrellas and scene enactments from Mary Poppins.
We made it nearly four miles round trip, not bad for a gusty day. We started off a bit chilly but warmed up well and were unzipping zippers and shedding gloves and sundry items by the time we got back to the cars. Afterwards a few of us enjoyed brunch at the Red River Cafe. Glad we were not trying to hold down paper plates at the Ferndale picnic pavilion! Photos on the MBC Flickr Page.
