Sunday October 14 – Sauk Mountain Hike
This hike is scheduled on the club calendar for this coming Saturday 13th. I have a schedule conflict that day and will have to reschedule, so this hike will be on Sunday 14th instead. My apologies for the confusion.
We will meet at the park and ride in Sedro Wooley at the end of Cook Road, It’s on the last turning on the right just before the roundabout. Not to be confused with the informal Cook Road park and ride on 99 and Cook, just off I-5. Or any other park and ride.
Days are short and it’s a long drive, so let’s meet in time for an 8am departure.
The Sauk mountain road is said to be mostly in good shape except for the last bit. The trail should be dry and firm. The round trip is only about 4 1/2 miles, elevation gain about 1200′, but the trail switchbacks up a steep exposed slope. I don’t think it is suitable for dogs. The forecast is sunny and warm, but I wouldn’t rely on it.
Any questions, contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org). See youi Sunday.
