Pine & Cedar Lakes Hike

March 31, 2018 (Saturday):  Five miles -out and back trail with 1400′ elevation gain.  This moderate trail though a shady forest can be hiked year-round. After a 1,200 foot climb, take a left at the first junction for the hemlock trail to the lakes. Once on the hemlock trail, it is 0.2 miles to Cedar Lake or straight ahead for 0.5 miles to Pine Lake.  We will stop for a lunch break beside one of the lakes.  Carpoolers can meet in the REI Parking Lot at Sehome Village prior to 8:30am for an on-time departure.  Trailhead is on Old Samish Road.  Directions:  Take I 5 South from Bellingham and take exit 250.  Follow Fairhaven Parkway west 0.1 miles to turn Left onto 30th Street.  After about a mile, turn left onto old Samish Drive and 1.3 miles to the trailhead parking lot on the right.
