Seventeen of us left the Sharpe Park parking lot for a ‘walk in the park’. Our first stop at Sares Head was windy and a bit chilly. We were treated to stunning costal views, including rugged cliffs, San Juan Islands, Rosario Strait and the Olympic Mountain range in the background. We then headed down to a shoreline bluff that was out of the wind and toasty. After a climb back up, it was down to Porpoise Point for lunch. We didn’t see any porpoises, but a harbor seal did make an appearance near the kelp beds. The clouds parted as we slogged our way back up to the cars. Photos can be seen on the MBC Flickr page.
