Trip Report

5 distinct accents were heard echoing through the Cascade Pass area of the North Cascades last Friday, all members of the Mount Baker Club on a hike.  German, French, Canadian, Malaysian, and various American accents echoed through the light and cool breezes flowing up from Puget Sound.  A very happy and preoccupied black bear crossed our path on his way to an afternoon of blueberry indulgence.  Many overnight backpackers crossed our paths.

We picked a cool and occasionally sunny day to enjoy the switchback marathon, and though Sahale Arm was unreachable due to time constraints we still enjoyed stellar views and fantastic company.  All 12 members stopped and enjoyed the Birdsview taps and gourmet brewery dining on the patio into the night afterwards.
